My School


Everybody is fond of his mother, village, school, country etc. I too love my school. It is Kayamajompur High School at Durgapur Upazila in the district of Rajshahi. It was established in 1932. Mr. Shahabuddin is our Headmaster. He teaches us English very well. Our school has ten classes beginning from class six. Each class has two sections. Each section has sixty students. The classrooms are ventilated and well lighted. It is multistoried and south facing. A playground is at the front and a big playground is at the west side of the school. Games like football, cricket etc. are played here. There are 20 teachers here. Subject teachers teach the subjects. Teachers are well trained and well educated. It begins at 10:00 am and breaks up at 4:00 pm. There are many books in our school library and students can borrow easily. The results of Primary Ending Examination, Junior School Certificate Examination and Secondary School Certificate Examination are remarkable. Credit goes to our Headmaster and other subject teachers. I feel proud of my school.

There is no doubt that reading newspaper has many advantages. By reading newspaper we acquire knowledge and wisdom. It widens our outlook and places the treasure of knowledge before us. We can acquire noble virtues. Especially we can enrich our general knowledge by reading newspaper. It is also a great source of entertainment. There are political news, sports news, business affairs, international affairs, entertainment news, students’ column in it. So a newspaper represents a complete global society. We should read the newspaper with attention. If we read newspaper daily we can keep ourselves up to date with the current world. So everybody should have the habit of reading newspaper.

Paragraph About 'Suvarnabhumi Airport'

Suvarnabhumi


Suvarnabhumi Airport is the fourth biggest passenger terminal building in the world. It is situated in Bangkok, Thailand. It is 30 kilometers east of Bangkok. The name is derived from Sanskrit which means golden land. King Bhumibol Adulyadie chose the name. There are two parallel runways with 60 meter width. The length of the run way is 4000 meters and the other is 3700 meters. The airport can handle 76 flights per hour. At present it has the capacity to handle 45 million passengers. When the construction works of the phase two will be completed, the capacity of handling the passengers will raise up to 65 million.

River Gypsies


River gypsies are an ethnic group in Bangladesh. They are known as bedey to local people. The gypsies have their own lifestyle and culture. They live in groups and do not own any land. Therefore, they live a nomadic life travelling from one place to another. These people roam across our rivers and waters from May to December in small country boats. These boats are their houses. In winter, many water bodies dry up. At that time they return to the mainland and live in make-shift tarpaulin tents on open river banks. During the monsoon, they remain busy with fishing. Men earn by catching fish, selling herbal medicine and entertaining people with snake charming. They also collect natural pearls from water. Women earn by selling bangles and cosmetics. At present they are facing many problems. Due to rapid urbanization and drying out of rivers, many of them changing their profession.

The Tha Kha Floating Market


The Tha Kha Floating Market is a traditional market in Bangkok. It is different from normal market. In this market the sellers and buyers are on boat. The sellers were mainly elderly Thai women. Their small boats were laden with bundles of lotus flowers, farm-fresh coconuts, fruits, vegetables, local food and delicious sweets. The sellers displayed their goods for sale and the buyers chose their pick. They could have a little chit-chat as buying and selling was going on. Originally, the Tha Kha Floating Market used to sit only six or seven days a month depending on the phase of the moon. Now a days, the trade takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays too. The main buyers here are the Tha Kha natives. Only a few tourists go there. People seem to know each other very well. They call each other by name.

Mr. Grasshopper and Mr. Ant were neighbors. They were good friends. Mr. Grasshopper was very lazy and imprudent. During the summer, he spent his days idly by merry making. On the contrary, Mr. Ant was very hard working.
He got up very early in the morning, ate a small breakfast and then started working on his farm. He worked very hard all day under hot summer sun. He planted many crops and looked after them carefully. While Mr. Ant worked on his farm, Mr. Grasshopper sang happily in the warm sun. And when he stopped, he sat and admired the beautiful countryside all around him. He looked at the leaves on the trees, the green fields and the fishermen’s boats on the sea. Then Mr. Grasshopper fell asleep. While Mr. Grasshopper slept quietly in his chair, Mr. Ant continued to work on his farm. For many days, weeks and months, he was busy in his fields. So while Mr. Grasshopper enjoyed his leisure, Mr. Ant worked hard from morning till night.
While the rainy season set in, Mr. Grasshopper fell in danger. He could not manage two square meals a day as he did not store food. He had to lead a miserable life. On the contrary, Mr. Ant led his life very well as he thought about his future.

Once a lion became very thirsty and came to a stream to quench his thirst. Suddenly he found a lamb drinking down stream. The lion wanted to eat the flesh of the lamb. He hit upon a plan to deceive the lamb and shouted, “You rogue, how dare you make water dirty for me?” The lamb began to tremble in fear. He said, “Excuse me, sir, how can I make the water dirty for you? You are drinking upstream and I am drinking down.” The lion could not say anything to that but shouted, “Oh, I remember, you called me bad names last year about this time.” “How can that be, sir?” said the lamb meekly. “I was not even born then.” But the lion paid no heed to this reply. He growled angrily, “Then it must be your father. And it made no difference whether it was you or your father.” Saying so the lion sprang upon the poor lamb and ate him up.

Long ago, there was a sultan in Bengal. His name was Giasuddin Azam. His capital was Sonargaon near Dhaka. He was a very just and kind ruler. The Sultan’s hobby was hunting. Very often he went on hunting. One day he was on hunting deer in a jungle. Aiming at a fawn he shot but missed. The arrow by chance pierced a son of a widow. Hearing the news, the widow was very much shocked and disappointed. Because the victim was her only child. So she went to the King to pray for justice. She complained against the Sultan. The Kazi was moved to pity hearing the shocking news. But he could not decide what to do. Because the complaint was against the Sultan. If he did justice to the widow, the Sultan might be displeased. Again if he did not do it, he would remain guilty to the widow and to almighty Allah. At last he made up his mind to bring the Sultan for justice. The King stood before the Kazi. The Kazi asked him whether the complaint was true. The Sultan answered in the affirmative and he was ordered to compensate the widow for the loss. The Sultan happily accepted the proposal and compensated the widow. Being pleased, the widow went home. The Kazi thanked the Sultan for his justice. The King also thanked the Kazi for his sense of duty.

Teaching of Prophet on Begging

Once Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) was sitting with his followers. All on a sudden a man came to him. He was healthy. He came near Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) and said to him, “Please, Hazrat give me some food.”
Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) asked him if he had anything at home. The man said that he had only one blanket. Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) told him to bring the blanket. The man went home and again came back with the blanket in his hand. Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) took the blanket and said to the followers:
“Is there anybody here to buy this blanket?”
One of the followers raised his hand. Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) sold the blanket and gave half of the money to the man to buy food. He gave the rest of the money to buy an axe. He requested the man to maintain his family by doing the work of woodcutter. He said to him, “Do not beg. Begging is not good at all.”
